Q

My lawn is filled with weeds of all different types, is there a single weed killer that I can buy which will kill all the different weeds?

A

There is no single herbicide which will kill all weed types in lawns, so it's a case of tackling all these weeds in stages, starting with the easiest first.

A broadleaf weed spray will kill the most amount of weed types in a single application. So purchase a bottle of Broadleaf Herbicide and apply this first, leaving the lawn for 2 - 3 weeks before any further applications.

Just be aware that BUFFALO LAWNS such as Sir Walter will need a special type of broadleaf weed killer, so be sure to buy the right product or the lawn may die.

The majority of the weeds should be gone after a couple of weeks, so it should be much easier to identify any remaining weed types that were not affected by the broadleaf weed spray.

If the remaining weeds are minimal, then simply remove them by hand or using a sharp knife to cut them off at the root.

If you cannot identify the remaining weeds, then take a sample to your local garden nursery for identification, and be sure to tell the staff which lawn type you have - this is important.

The staff should then be able to recommend the correct herbicide for killing the remaining weeds in your lawn.
