Q

I want to spray my lawn for weeds, when is the best time to do this when I have to mow my lawn every couple of weeks?

A

The lawn will need to repair it's wounds from the lawn mowing before weed killers or any other chemical treatments are applied. Otherwise the lawn may well take up the same herbicide and get sick or dies as a result of it.

Leave the lawn for 1 week after mowing before applying herbicides.

A similar principle applies when it comes time to mow the lawn after using a herbicide.

Mowing the lawn too soon after applying herbicides will mean much of the herbicide will be removed from the weeds leaf material before it has had a chance to work it's way around the entire vascular system of the weed.

In short, the weed may grow back again if the lawn is cut too soon.

Apply the herbicide at elate 1 week prior to mowing the lawn - longer if possible.
