Q

I'm hiring a Lawn Mowing Contractor for the first time, is there anything I need to be aware of or that I need to do before he arrives to do the lawns?

A

Absolutely, there are a number of simple things that will need to be done to ensure your Lawn Mowing Contractor can come to your home and service your lawns, and service them efficiently and to the best standard possible. Here's a quick list.

Pick up all dog droppings
This is a major health hazard, and most certainly not the responsibility of a Contractor to do before he cuts the grass.

Take washing off the line
This is both a safety risk and a major inconvenience to the Contractor and the homeowner. The washing can get caught in the moving parts of the lawn mowing machinery and rip it to pieces, as well as causing damage to the machinery. But as well as this, the washing can become a real nuisance to navigate heavy machinery around, as well as the clean washing becoming dirty from dust being generated from the mowing.

Pick up toys and other objects off the lawn
The Contractor simply does not have the time to stop work and begin cleaning up a clients yard before he can begin doing his work and earning an income, please pick up anything which has been left on the lawn.

Stay out of the yard
Please also stay out of the yard while mowing is being conducted. These machines are highly dangerous and can cause great injury if a rock or other object is caught and hurled through the air at great speed.

Ensure Access
Always take extra care to ensure the Contractor has full access to all areas of the property where lawn mowing will be undertaken, including leaving enough space in driveways to get machinery past cars, and ensuring gates are left unlocked or a key supplied to the Lawn Mowing Contractor.
