Q
How much fertiliser should I put down on my lawn? Is it a good idea to put down some extra to get the grass growing and greening up faster?A
It's always best practice to only ever use lawn fertilisers at manufacturers recommendations.
While a little extra fertiliser may help a little more, this will only happen if all other conditions are right. Meaning the lawn is getting enough water, enough sunlight, and isn't subject to other problems which may be detrimental to it's health.
Putting down too much fertiliser will generally clog up the arteries of the lawn, and can make it rather sick and weak, and subject to infestations of disease and other problems.
Always best to stick to manufacturers recommendations, ensure all other facets are taken care of, such as adequate sunlight and water, and fertilise every 2 months throughout the year.
